Siri not listening when using Spotify

When I am playing Spotify Siri will not respond to commands. Does anyone know how to fix this?

It totally does, Spotify has they’re one voice assistant that you can summon in-app by saying “Hey, Spotify”. It would totally make sense for Siri to not work with Spotify while that feature is turned on because it is listening for “Hey, Spotify” instead of “Hey, Siri”.

Cheers.

GlitterKillah187,

Thanks for that info.

Let's try this next. Go to Settings > Siri & Search. Turn off "Listen for "Hey Siri", "Press Side Button for Siri", and "Allow Siri When Locked". Restart your iPhone and then turn them back on and test.

If Siri is working with other apps, take a look at the steps in this article: If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open - Apple Support

Cheers.

Hello GlitterKillah187,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

We understand that Siri is not responding to commands when playing Spotify. Let's start by making sure that Spotify is enabled to work with Siri.

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Scroll down and select Spotify app.
  3. Tap on Siri & Search.
  4. Enable Use with Ask Siri.

Let us know how this goes.

Best regards.

Yeah, all of your solutions were useless. "hAvE yOu TuRnEd iT oFf AnD oN aGaIn?" Literally the butt of every IT joke out there. and don't try suggesting to make a genius appointment, schedule a phone call with a rep, or use the chat feature for support. The answers are all the same. So please try better solutions that are actually useful, or simply admit that it's designed to do exactly what it is doing. This is not a glitch or an app not working. This is Apple trying to cut corners and force users into using Apple Music due to it "being more compatible." This feature has never worked, yet Apple employees say differently, but can't prove it. I suggest you relay the information to people that can actually do something and correct this, or just continue to see the numbers for Apple Music decline as Spotify just gains more and more popularity. Tell the team to get it together.
