Share iPad screed to mac

Can I...or why can't I share my iPad screen to my MacBook Pro? When I share my screen with my class on zoom, I want to be able to use the iPad note taking function....

You can't do that with only macOS on the MacBook Pro, as it does not support being an AirPlay target. However, there are third-party applications that can run on the Mac and provide this function. I use one named Reflector 3. Note that I have not tested using it with Zoom yet.
