Can you delete SMS text messages on an iPhone 12

You can recover deleted texts only if:

• You don’t sync messages to iCloud (Go to Settings/[your name]/icloud-Messages and it must have been OFF when the message was deleted)
• You have a backup made before the text was deleted

You can restore the backup to recover the message, however, this will overwrite everything on your phone with the contents of the backup, not just the missing message.

Delete a message or conversation

When you delete a message or conversation, you can't get it back. So make sure that you save important information from your messages.
