Apple ID being used on another iphone

I have just turned on my iPhone and had a message saying my Apple ID and phone number now being used for iMessage and FaceTime on new iPhone. Very confused about this. Can anyone in the community throw some light on this for me please. I do have an iPad which I used recently whilst away / linking it through the iPhone but that was about 6 days ago.

You will find that enabling iMessage or Facetime on the ipad has generated this message, which is fine.

To be sure, on the phone go to Settings, (your name) and scroll down to see all devices signed into your AppleID.

Any strangers, come back!
