As for clearing files that come under the user's Direct control refer to posting and solution provided by @ Rudegar

I'm Sorry, but having 64GB occupied by "Other" in a 120GB disk is just not acceptable. How can you manage this?

If one pays for a 120Gb, then it should all be usable and not over 50% allocated to 'other'

Unless there is a fix, I'm considering my next laptop to be a windows machine.
