Hello all,
I don't know what happened. This was not happening before.
here is what is happening now.
I am in a cell in numbers, in iworks, I have numbered bullets, in the paragraph I hit return to add a number 2 and instead it takes me to a new cell.

The option key is your friend.
Hold down the option key and press enter (my keyboard shows that key as return).

enter is taking me to a new cell in numbers instead of new paragraph in the same cell
