No, an iPhone 6 cannot update past iOS 12.5.4. The new update is for iOS 13 and 14. You are safe.
Your iPhone 6 cannot be updated any further. It’s 8 year old hardware can’t run newer versions. But have no fear; the vulnerability fixed by iOS 14.8 does not exist in iOS 12; only iOS 13 and later.
