Locked watch needs unlocking without a paired phone

Hi,

I have a series 4 that is locked and has a “Too many passcode attempts. Reset watch and pair again” message on the screen.

I no longer have the phone it used to be paired with and have tried putting it on charge, press holding the side button and press holding the crown button as per instructions I found online, but I do not get an option to reset or go t settings or anything. It just puts me back to the watch face screen.

please help!

Follow these steps:

If you forgot your Apple Watch passcode - Apple Support

Here are two ways to unpair your watch if you no longer have the paired iPhone:

  • See the 'How to erase your Apple Watch if you don't have your iPhone' section of:

Unpair and erase your Apple Watch - Apple Support

  • With a web browser, go to: https://www.iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID. Open Find My iPhone and select All Devices (at the top). Then click your Apple Watch, select 'Erase Apple Watch', and select Next until the device is erased. Finally click "X" next to remove your Apple Watch.
