Two things to check in this situation:

1. Ensure that you have not deleted the Mail app. Open the App Store app and search for the Mail app in the App Store. Once you find it, then is it available for download or does it show the OPEN button next to it? If it is available for download, then download it because the Mail app is not on your iPhone. If it shows the OPEN button, then your Mail app is still on your iPhone. Go to the next step.
2. Check the App Library and find the Mail app. The App Library is the last home screen on your iPhone when you continue to SWIPE LEFT until you reach it. Locate the Mail app in one of the folders in the App Library and then TOUCH, HOLD and DRAG the Mail icon out of there and on to your favorite spot on the home screen.
