Loss of data

I have an iPod 120… playlists disappeared…. How can I retrieve that data?

Ideally all that information would be in your iTunes/Music library ready to restore to the device or a replacement if it was lost, stolen, damaged, or needed to be restored. See Recover media from an iPod - Apple Community to reclaim music if not too late for that. Retrieving playlists from a corrupted device generally isn't possible, although sometimes there is a backup copy of the database that can be replaced. The database is at iPod_Control > iTunes > iTunesDB and the backup, if there is one, is at iPod_Control > iTunes > iT.tmp. If you have the .tmp file you can try renaming it and then see if that restores your playlists on the device.
