Macbook Timoing out / Screen going to screensaver or just black randomly

Hi, my new Macbook seems to time out constantly while I'm using it. I'll be typing or watching a video and the screen will randomly go black / go to screen saver mode and the macbook won't respond to any key strokes or mouse use until I close it and reopen it again. It's extremely annoying and definitely shouldn't be happening. Can anyone help please?

If you purchased this MacBook Pro directly from Apple, you have 14 days to return it for either a full refund or a replacement. If beyond that, we can try helping you do some preliminary troubleshooting, but it may still be better for you to make a Genius Bar appointment at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider to have them take a look and provide you with your options. Let us know which way you want to proceed?
