Why do the iOS Mail Swipe setting not include DELETE in either the left or right swipe setting?

I just upgraded to iOS 15 and they are not available to choose. The closest way is to close MOVE and touch Trash. Seems like a long way to go to delete an email.

if I EDIT the mail list and touch multiple emails there’s no Trash at the bottom of the edit list, so I still have touch Move and then Trash.

Based on your response it appears that delete or trash cannot be done in a single swipe, left or right.

That makes no sense, as DELETE is probably the most used function when you reading your unread email.
