LG UltraFine External Display with MacBook Big Sur 11.6 Cannot Adjust Screen Brightness

Just upgraded to Big Sur 11.6. Before this I could adjust the brightness separately on the MacBook and external Screens. Now the Brightness Scroll bar on the Display control panel has no effect and there is no check box to turn off "Automatically Adjust Brightness" but when I open the System Report on About this Mac, it says it is turned on:

LG UltraFine:

  Resolution: 4096 x 2304

  UI Looks like: 2048 x 1152 @ 60.00Hz

  Framebuffer Depth: 30-Bit Colour (ARGB2101010)

  Display Serial Number: 803NTFA55515

  Mirror: Off

  Online: Yes

  Rotation: Supported

  Automatically Adjust Brightness: Yes

  Connection Type: Thunderbolt/DisplayPort

How do I adjust the brightness on the external monitor because the default setting is too bright?
