How to stop photos in text messages automatically save to Photos

When I view photos in text messages, those automatically saved into my Photos app. How do I stop it? I’m using iOS 15.

To clarify, are you referring to the photos you take and send in the Messages app? If so, there is not currently a way to change this option and any picture you take through Messages will also be saved to your camera roll. If this is something you'd like to possibly see changed in the future, you can provide your feedback to Apple using the link below.
