I can;t shut down my iPhone 12 Pro Max

This happened to me, I tried several times to shut down the I phone 12 pro max, my fingers would not work on ANYTHING,

finally took it to T mobile, they shut it down real quick. Idk why it would not work for me. But its fixed now & has not done it again yet.

Hold the power and the volume up buttons together. You should then see a slider.
