No Translation option in Safari

I have not been able to get this to work since Apple released this capability. I am running Safari 15 on MacMini with Mojave. The page below is in Italian, which is a supported language. There is no translation icon in the smart bar field. If I go to this URL in Chrome or Edge, it translates immediately.

Is there a setting that has to be turned on to enable this functionality? It would be great if this worked since I am on a lot of Italian websites.

These are currently the languages supported by Safari Web Page Translation:

https://www.apple.com/ios/feature-availability/#safari-web-page-translation

Italian isn't listed. The Translate app on iOS/iPadOS – which is a different app – does offer Italian translation. It's not related to the Safari's translation feature, though.

Other browsers' translation capabilities don't rely on Apple's Safari Web Page Translation.
