Touch ID on my MacBook Pro is not available since last macOS update

Since last OS update, touch I.D. not available on my MacBook Pro. System preferences are all OK but I am not offered touch I.D. for banking, etc.

You do not say what exact Mac this is...?

Verify System Preferences>TouchID

you can try removing all finger prints and add them back in.

If no resolve—

If this is Intel Mac —

Try resetting the SMC https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

and

Try resetting NVRAM/PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379

(get at least two-three rounds of the chimes when holding the NRAM Reset)
