What do you mean by 'hit up'?

If the WiFi network, see if anything here helps.

Connect to Wi-Fi on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.  *

Troubleshooting Wi-Fi issues in IOS.    -

If the cellular network, see if anything here helps.

iPhone – Won’t activate.

iPhone/iPad - No Service or Searching.

iPhone - If you can't make or receive calls

iPhone - If you see 'invalid SIM' or 'no SIM' on your iPhone or iPad

Some things you can try. Do you have access to another WiFi network where you can try? That has worked for several people.

Try a restart.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch    *

Try a forced restart.
