Apple pen charging.

I have a silicon cover on my iPad. I cannot get the pen to charge even though there is magnetic connection. When I place my Apple pen on my wife’s silicone covered (she has same one I do) the pen charges right away. I then switched covers and my cover does not interfere with charging on her iPad. Is there something wrong with my new iPAD?

The Apple Pencil will reliably charge only when the Pencil body makes physical contact with the magnetic charging dock of the iPad.

If your case places any kind of material between the Pencil and contact-point of the iPad, the Pencil may not charge.
