how can I stop the rainbow colored ball , it keeps popping up while I'm working .

The spinning beach ball of death is a sign your mac is struggling to complete tasks.


What age is your mac, it could be a hard drive issue.

Do you have a lot of apps open at the same time, this could be eating up the RAM,

macOS Big Sur really needs at least 8GBs of RAM to function smoothly.


How much free space does your mac have, the beachball can show up when your HD is running very low on free space.


Open Activity Monitor from the Applications> Utility folder to see how much RAM your mac is using.

You haven't really given us much information about your mac to try an diagnose your problem.


Click on the top left of your screen and select About This Mac,

tell us the model and year of your mac.
