If I delete a message on imessage, 1) will the other person be notified I deleted the message, and 2) will the message also be deleted for them?

What you do on your device does not affect any other user. Their message will remain and they will not know you deleted a message.
What you do on your device does not affect any other user. Their message will remain and they will not know you deleted a message.
I believe it is only deleted on your device. Because the main purpose for deleting an iMessage would be to free up space.
