Apple Configurator 2 not really working to adjust home screen layout of iOS devices

I tried Apple Configurator 2 to adjust the home screen layout of my iPhone (latest version: 2.14 / 6E26).

There are tons of obvious bugs:

- Simple regrouping of apps within a page not possible (e.g. always creates an app group)

- Very cumbersome to move apps out of a group

- etc.

:-(

Would be really nice if apple fixes these bugs!

Does anybody know of good alternative apps to manage the home screen layout?

Are the specs on how the home screen layout is stored public? Maybe an idea to make an app...
