MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports), Crashes after sleep

Hi,

For the last few days, my laptop freezes or crashes after I try to wake it up from sleep state.

In the initial days, after sleep when it freezes, it use to start if I press and hold the power button for a force restart.

Recently, even on force restart, sometimes it starts, sometimes it shows a "folder icon" with a question mark on it, this icon keeps coming even after multiple force restarts. The only solution is to start diagnostics or start in recovery mode and then restart normally.

Below are some useful screenshots and logs.

Please help. Thanks

The Kernel Panic log you posted shows the issue is with the SSD and confirmed with the Apple Diagnostics. This is a common problem with the non-Touchbar model. Apple has a free SSD repair program for a very small number of the 2017 models, but I've seen the issue with a lot of them in our organization that are not covered by the free repair program. You will need to have the SSD replaced.

Make sure to get a good backup if you haven't done so already because the SSD may fail completely at any time.

Also check to see if your laptop qualifies for this free Apple Battery repair program:

FYI, here is the current list of the publicly acknowledged free repair programs for various Apple products (some products like your laptop have multiple programs available):

You should always have frequent & regular backups. It is impossible to recover accidentally deleted data from an SSD after the Trash has been emptied plus an SSD can fail at any time without any warning signs.
