Locked out of my new MacBook Air

While setting up my new MacBook Air, passwords, etc it got stuck on air the create a computer A computer account screen. Searched online and I was advised to shut down and now I’m locked out. My home screen keeps telling me my password is wrong. Also try to reset password using my Apple ID and it’s not allowing for that either. Please help.
