No. Whether you purchase a GPS only or GPS+ Cellular watch, the watch MUST be paired with an iPhone. Apple Watch is NOT a standalone device. Though if you have an iPhone and you have a cellular version of the watch, you can leave your iPhone at home and still use the watch away from your iPhone.
