upgrading from MacOS 10.13.6 to 10.14

I have 5 year old iMAC that is running 10.13.6 and i need to upgrade, but whenever i try to upgrade to 10.14.1 or higher, it says I have to be running 10.14. I cannot find a version of 10.14 to install. When i got to the app store it simply takes me to 10.14.4

Do NOT upgrade until you have made a Time Machine or other backup of your startup drive.

How to Upgrade  macOS:

The macOS version you can upgrade to depends on the year your Mac was released.

Click the  (Apple) menu at the top left of your screen and choose About This Mac.

macOS 10.14 Mojave is compatible with the Macs listed here:

See How to get old versions of macOS using only the Safari browser. Ensure your iMac is hardware compatible on that site with Mojave, then follow the Mojave link to the Mac App Store, where you can download the full Mojave installer. It is a good idea to have a Time Machine backup of High Sierra before the upgrade, and not let the Mojave Time Machine backup to that drive.

It sounds if you were downloading Mojave updaters from the Apple download site and as they are not full installers, it would not work.
