Remote View for Plugins No Longer Working?

GarageBand recently updated to 10.4.4 for me, and while I rather like the new presets for all the built-in plugins, I went to use one of my own plugins that I had installed before the update, and none of them seem to have remote view anymore. Even new ones that I try to install are not popping up with it.

Is this feature just no longer supported? It seems like such an obvious feature to support that I can't fathom why it would just disappear.

Hey ParadoxPandox,

It appears that you're having a problem using the Logic Remote to view the plug-ins for GarageBand on your Mac. It's not showing the ones you've added yourself, and we're glad to provide assistance.

If you can't connect Logic Remote to Logic Pro, GarageBand, or MainStage - Apple Support -- This may be a connection issue. See if the steps in this article helps.

Get Support -- If you're still not seeing what you need, please contact Apple Support for further help. Choose Music Apps & Services > Mac apps > GarageBand to reach them.

All the best.

Thanks for the explanation, ParadoxPandox. It's helpful.

Are the plug-ins still located in the Application folder on your Mac? If you quit GarageBand and restart it, is it scanning for your plug-ins?

You can also still contact Apple Support for further help. Just use the link and the information we provided in our previous post.

Take care.

That is not what's happening here. I should have clarified that it had nothing to do with Logic Remote.

I've also seen it called "Editor" as well as "Remote View", and it's specifically for AU and VST plugins.

It's an old screenshot, so it's not the best quality, but this is what I was able to do before. Note the "View" dropdown box with the "Editor" option selected in the top-right corner? That's supposed to be available, but in 10.4.4, that just doesn't seem to exist anymore, and if that's a feature that's been removed, then I don't see myself using GarageBand as much as I used to.

The plugins are still located in my Applications folder, and it's not that the plugins don't work at all. It's just that they don't work with the editor/remote view option. It's just not there anymore for any plugin, new or old. I've tried installing new plugins, uninstalling and reinstalling old ones, and nothing. Just no option anymore.

I read the article you linked to, and it seems to be mostly about plugins that are not working at all, and more specifically about 32- vs. 64-bit plugins and about authorization. Unfortunately, neither of those are the problem I'm having.

I'll try contacting Apple Support, though, if I can't end up figuring this out.
