How do I upgrade from Yosemite to Catalina OS?

I have gone through both System Preferences and directly to the App Store, but it says there are no updates available and I can't find Catalina. I'm currently using a Macbook Air (13-inch, Early 2014) running Yosemite v10.10.5, which says it supports Catalina upgrade. How do I upgrade to a more current OS? Thanks for any help!

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and click on Catalina.

Thanks Niel, I kept hunting and found it! Very helpful. I've downloaded it and it's been running the install for about 3 hours at this point. The blue progress line indicator is almost 1/2 way. I read some articles saying it would only take 60 minutes, seems to be way slower for me. I'm just being patient at this point, not sure how long that will last. Does this seem OK?

Again, thanks for your reply and help!
