Why can't we VIEW messages when logged into icloud on a desktop?

I want to be able to read my messages IN iCloud just like we can view Photos. Is this possible? I have Messages enabled in iCloud on the device.

For your privacy, Messages in iCloud is end-to-end encrypted,* which means you can't view or access Messages online via browser.
