i cannot move or drop a file on mac only on one docx. i am trying to put a copy in an application online and have tried everything. it is saved on the mac but does not show up except in the basic word program. would really appreciate some help

Thank you so much for replying. After an hour or so I found that it was in a weird file, not in documents, not iCloud and was able to copy and paste onto a new document and that solve the problem. Don't know how it found this file! Thanks again

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! We understand you're trying to drag and drop a file from your Mac to an application online. We'd like to see how we can help, but there are a few questions we have as well:
What type of file is this?
What happens when you try dragging and dropping it?
Are you able to successfully drop it to other locations? In other words, is it just failing to copy to this online application you mention?
Did you try other ways to upload it to your application online other than drag and drop?
