Pairing watch to ipad

My watch used to pair with my iPad but after the updates it won’t pair. It does pair to my iPhone 8s

Apple Watch Series 6, watchOS 7

An apple watch will only connect to an ipad for the purposes of Fitness+,it cannot PAIR to an ipad.
