If you forgot the passcode on your iPad, or your iPad is disabled

A Mac or Windows system is required. Either yours, or borrowed, or with the assistance of Apple or an Apple authorized service provider.

There is no means to recover the device password.

Passwords are not stored as text.

The only means available to regain access to the device is to reset the device.

The passcode is used as the key to encrypt and decrypt the data contents of your iPad.

Without that key, the data cannot be accessed.

The reset will require restoring your backup.

Resetting the device and resetting the device passcode will not reset Activation Lock.
