Safari is installed as part of your Mac's operating system and it cannot be erased. Nothing happened to it. it is still located in the Applications folder. You apparently erased the Safari icon on your desktop. To restore it, drag the Safari icon from the Applications folder down to the Dock and that will crate a new alias for it there.
