monterey sign in slow
Monterey boosts fast enough but when the password login box appears there is a delay of up to 10 seconds before I can enter the password. Everything else is fine.

Let's follow the steps in How to use safe mode on your Mac to boot into safe mode. Once you've booted into safe mode, boot back out into your normal user, and see if the issue continues. Sometimes just booting into and then back out of safe mode resolves issues like this. Since safe mode performs a quick scan of your start up disk this is a great step to take.
