MACBOOK PRO 16 inch intel Processor FLEXGATE vertical LIne on DiSPLAY

I bought this device when it came out because it has an old scissor keyboard. Today, I have experienced a display issue in which there is a vertical line on the Macbook pro 16 inches.

Vertical artifacts are not caused by cable problems. Vertical issues are almost always problems inside the display assembly.

The way the picture on the screen is displayed, it is a stack of one-pixel tall "slices". When everything is working perfectly, the slice all line up and the screen looks good. Problems is the cable would show the slices mis-aligned, and that would cause a huge-podge, not a vertical artifact.

The problem is all in the display. Apple does repair-by replacement, so their answer is correct -- replace the display.

This is a failure in the display, but bringing in flex-cable issues is a distraction.

You has bad luck. It is possible a third-party repair outlet like PowerBook Medic might be able to swap in a used displays for a little bit less money.
