Hi. I have a MacBook Pro 13", 2020 running macOS Monterey. I connected a new magic keyboard with Touch ID yesterday. The Touch ID will lock my MacBook but it is not reading fingerprint with and without the cable connected. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I have an M1 2020 MacBook Air. And I have the same problem. The touch ID works about 10% of the time so sometimes it does work. I'm just about ready to return it but hoping that someone here can help. I upgraded to Monterey 12.0.1 and this did not do anything.
