No sim is on my phone why

My phone shows no sim. I can’t open the sim but didn’t think it used one either

Did you follow the steps in the Related Article that you came to the forum with? What did your carrier say?

You also mention that you can't open the SIM. Do you mean that you cannot open the SIM tray? See this, Remove or switch the SIM card in your iPhone - Apple Support
