I have a thick vertical line on my screen about 2 inch wide that has just appeared on my screen but I can still see everything as it is in the background. Does anyone know what is happening or wrong with my MacBook Pro Screen.

The photo you shared with us doesn't show the vertical line you are talking about. Would you be able to share a picture from your iPhone / iPad showing this line?

shutdown your Mac , unplug everything, let it rest for 10 minutes, then power it back on...
