How can I change an Apple ID so I can use my husbands old phone

The device in question (husband’s old iPhone) needs to be removed from its linked Apple ID (husband’s Apple ID) before it will be free to accept a new Apple ID.

First, thoroughly and completely cleanse that iPhone as follows:
