I can edit text easily in Pages, Notes, etc. but when I attempt to Edit a message the cursor moves to the wrong line or the text is highlighted and I can't undo that , etc. Seems to have occurred with iOS Version 12. It's really bad now in iOS 15. It happens on my iPhone 8 and my partner's newer iPhone SE (2nd Generation).
Any suggestions?

A. Start with a Restart:
Restart your iPhone, and see if it then is fixed.
B. Update your Phone:
