Thanks, but I get as far as erasing my external hard drive. It then asks me:

  1. Enter a name for the volume.
  2. Click the Scheme pop-up menu, then choose GUID Partition Map.
  3. Click the Format pop-up menu, then choose an encrypted file system format.
  4. Enter and verify a password, then click Choose.
  5. To change the password later, select the volume in the sidebar, then choose File > Change Password.

  • None of which I seem to be able to do! Where is the 'scheme pop up menu', for instance?!

Thanks for your help, by the way. Much appreciated!

Create a screenshot, which places a file on your desktop by default.

In the reply footer on the forums (viewed in a web browser) the next to the rightmost button at the bottom of the window is the "Image Insertion" Icon. (looks like the moon over a mountain range). Click it and a directory dialog-box opens, to allow you to select the saved screenshot file.
