If you are experiencing any issues following a system software update, your first action should be a forced-restart of the iPad - as doing so will often resolve an isolated software issue:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

If you continue to experience difficulties with your email, has you email provider switched to using App Specific Passwords? If so, you will need to generate a unique password for your iPad email account - that will differ from your normal Account Password. As examples - AOL, Yahoo, Google, Microsoft all use App Specific Passwords when using anything other than their own email client Apps.

If you need to generate an App Specific Password, you’ll need to log-in to your Mail Providers account management webpage - using a web browser - and generate the Password from the appropriate account security page.

For Yahoo, more information can be found here:

My email app freezes, cannot do anything with it. i basically lost all my files. Report as a bug under feedback. Maybe if enough people complain, something will be done. I worked with apple support to solve my problem with zero results.

I recommend you all report ir because they told me nobody has report this as a bug. it is a bug, don’t have this problem on my iphone or ipad still on ios 14.

Do not delete your email to restore, you will lose all downloaded and sent mail. My mail is still broken after trying all the fixes out there
