Static when waking up Mac Mini M1

I have this issue since I got my Mac Mini M1 back in May 2021.

When I wake it up, at least twice a day, it will display static instead of login screen and I have to unplug/ plug the cable (more than once some times) to the Mini before I get back right picture.

I'm using this cable (sized 3 feet 3⅜ inches or 1m) with this screen.

I have the latest macOS 12.1 (21C52) so it's not software related.

Any thoughts, suggestions and/ or ideas?

Thank you and happy holidays!

At 6 feet, the cable is a bit too long. I would replace with 3 or shorter.

Separately, disable Sleep, it’s unnecessary on later Macs, all pain, no gain. Shut for long absences i.e. > 2 hours. To disable, check “Prevent…” in Energy Preferences and uncheck everything else. You can leave the display off time as is, unrelated to Sleep.

If disabling sleep does the trick, you can stick with the 6’ cable. Good luck!
