During the setup of your iPad, you may have setup or signed in with an Apple ID. That Apple ID is your account and the iPad gets added to your account when it is signed into it.

If you iPad has been set up, then open Settings and at the top should be your Apple ID displayed. If there is an Apple ID at the top then your iPad is listed under that account.
