Get this Serviced - No Matter the Cost:
If this is swelling up, then the battery is corroding --something harmful. So, contact Apple Support, and have them look at it.

Why the Wait:
Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due to lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through :)

As for my prior experiences: My 2017 MacBook Pro had screen issues - it go hot and would always fail. So, Apple gave me a swap out, having sent it in 11 times.
