Apple Watch not showing calories burned on workout app

Why doesn’t the Apple Watch series 7 show calories burned on the workout app?

I upgraded from the series 2 and it showed the calories burned but I am just wondering.

Depending on which workout you choose you can see calories, distance, pace, and elapsed time. Follow section "Choose between different measurements for energy burned and distance" here: Use the Workout app on your Apple Watch
