Thumbnails icon in Finder

Since the last update on Monterey, I no longer see the preview images in the Finder. The preview shows the generic .JPG and .PNG icon, whereas before I saw the preview images in thumbnails. I use this option every day in my work, it is essential to my job. How do I get the thumbnails to display again?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.0

Try booting to Safe Mode. That boot up takes minutes and clears caches and other things that may resolve your problem.

How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

A lot of times just boot to Safe Mode followed by normal boot resolves problems.
