MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) obsolete?

Will macOS Big Sur be the last OS my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) will ever be compatible with? If so this is quite sad... It still runs great!

Why is Monterey not compatible and will it be in the future?

Yes, last version.

"It still runs great!". Cool. As long as it serves a purpose and you "keep it between the lines", even outdated security patches may serve you well.

Sorry, but Apple likes to match new MacOS with advanced hardware features, so there is no back-walking.

I want to focus on "It still runs great!". That is the final judgement for any device you have, so upgrade when you feel necessary and we will continue to answer your questions in here in the meantime.
