add a song to the middle of a project on iMovie for iPad

I would like to add a song to the middle of a video on iMovie for iPad. Whenever I add a song, it goes to the beginning and I can not move it to the correct location, front only. When I try and split the song a the correct frame and delete the front portion, it moves the song to the beginning of the video again. Can you not add a song to the middle, with nothing at the beginning? I can do this on my Mac but not the iPad nor iPhone
