There is no such a setting to block unknown senders for "Home"

Correct. You can block specific sending numbers (which is useful for those being sent from consistent numbers, and not so useful otherwise), and can mute unknown senders, and your carrier may offer other options. From Settings > Messages…

There's a bit of discussion on Reddit too. Doesn't seem like there's much you can do, except:

  1. "Lite" solution: In iOS settings, you can go to Notifications and turn off notifications for the Home app. You won't *see* notifications but the invitations will still exist.
  2. If you don't use the Home app at all, deleting it should not only avoid the app-spam but will also avoid accidentally clicking on any app spam or any accidental registrations of homes or devices.

The messaging settings with filter unknown sender has always been on and I still receive spam via home invitation. Very annoying with unwanted notifications and nothing I can do about it except to decline those invitations a few times a day. I hope to see a solution of this problem very soon.

Engaging with spammers makes you a bigger target.

Declining invitations and "unsubscribing" is how you confirm that your contact info is valid and functional, and is being read, and that you're willing to engage with scammers and spammers, and which in aggregate greatly increases your value to spammers, and for re-sale to other spammers and scammers.

Assuming these are SMS messages from varying sources, contact your carrier for available filtering options for SMS there.

Ah, okay. That’s ugly. There’s no published means to shut off that Home app invite message (spam?), if the previously-mentioned silence-unknown-callers and blocks of any consistent senders doesn’t work here.

Contact Apple Support, as they may well have a means to disable reception of Home app invites.
